v1.1.8: Nameplate Scan Fix, Steadier Syncing, and Longer Battery
ACLogics Mobile App v1.1.8 leads with a fix for the most disruptive bug we’ve seen recently — the “Photo unavailable” error on nameplate scans — plus a round of work on the things that quietly wear you down over a full day of calls.
”Photo unavailable” on nameplate scans — fixed
This is the important one. On some phones, a nameplate photo you had just taken would come back as “Photo unavailable”, forcing you to retake it — sometimes more than once, standing in front of the unit.
The photo was never actually lost. On certain devices the app was reading the file a fraction of a second before the camera had finished handing it over, and treating that instant as a failure. The app now waits and rechecks before giving up, which clears the cases we were seeing. If a photo genuinely can’t be read, that now reaches us as a real error report instead of being filed away as a warning — so if anything like this survives on a device we haven’t seen, we’ll hear about it.
Offline work finishes uploading on its own
If you’d been offline for a while and came back to “Local changes are waiting to sync” that just sat there — where closing and reopening the app was the only thing that fixed it — that’s resolved.
The app now works through a backlog in smaller batches and keeps trying on its own until everything is up, instead of stopping at the first attempt. Weak and intermittent connections hold up better, so the hand-off between one bar of signal and none is much less likely to leave you stranded.
Better battery life
The app now stays quiet while it’s in your pocket. Older phones see the biggest difference — if yours was noticeably warm or draining after a few hours with ACLogics open, it should hold up a lot better through a full day now.
Dark mode fixes
- No more white flash when opening a diagnosis, nameplate, appearance, or notification screen on Android.
- “Offline mode” in History is readable again — it was nearly the same color as the background behind it.
- Better contrast on the “Action needed” badge and the “Explore advanced causes” button.
Taps that land the first time
- Fixed the dead first tap when picking an option right after stepping back. It was most noticeable right after opening the app.
- Options that aren’t ready to accept a tap yet now look unavailable, instead of looking normal and doing nothing.
- Selecting an option highlights immediately before the step advances, so you can tell it registered.
Sign-in and startup
- You stay signed in when your company access ends. Losing access to an organization no longer signs you out of the app.
- Fixed being sent back to the sign-in screen after signing in with SSO, and again in the first few seconds after your phone regains signal.
- Fixed a lockup when switching between personal and organization accounts.
- If you’ve signed in on this device before, launching takes you straight to the sign-in form instead of replaying the welcome screens.
- Faster launch when the app is waiting on a slow connection.
Smaller fixes
- Warranty lookups stay in the app. Some manufacturer warranty pages (Bryant, among others) load a verification step that was kicking you out to your phone’s browser mid-lookup.
- App update checks are no longer skipped on a cold start, so force-quitting and reopening is once again a reliable way to pick up a new version.
- The sync banner stops flickering on quick syncs, and stays up long enough to read when it does appear.
- Tapping Fixed and verified while reviewing an earlier step of a finished job no longer writes to that job.
- On Android 12 and below, App Language now explains that per-app language needs Android 13, instead of offering a button that led nowhere.
- Subscription state is clearer: a purchase that hasn’t been confirmed yet shows Upgrading…, and a temporary connection problem says so instead of looking like a downgrade.
- Updated translations across all 16 supported languages.
