Indoor Unit EEPROM Parameter Error. The indoor control board reads corrupted or invalid parameter data from its EEPROM, which is a data-integrity fault rather than the runtime signal or circuit faults reported by codes E1 through E5 — E1 flags communication wiring, E2 a zero-crossing detection circuit, E3 a fan motor signal, and E4/E5 sensor circuits, all detected while the system is operating. Because the corrupted parameters govern basic operating configuration, the indoor unit will not run a call for cooling or heating normally until valid data is restored. A power cycle lets the control board attempt to reload its EEPROM values, which resolves a transient read glitch. If the error returns after cycling power, the EEPROM data itself has failed and the indoor control board must be replaced — there is no field procedure to reprogram just the EEPROM chip.
