Full Diagnosis

Code d0 appears on Goodman/Amana/Daikin-family communicating outdoor and indoor control boards when the integrated control module (ICM) is set up for communicating operation but has not yet received any shared configuration data from the rest of the system. This differs from d1, where the ICM has received data but that data is invalid or corrupted — d0 means no handshake has occurred at all, which is typical right after a control board replacement, a fresh system commissioning, or a broken communicating link that has never synced. While the fault is active the board withholds compressor and blower operation, since it has no configuration to run on; the fault normally clears itself once valid shared data is exchanged, without a manual reset.

Confirm the indoor and outdoor units are actually wired for communicating (2-wire) operation and not mistakenly wired as a conventional 24V system. Check the communicating wiring between the thermostat, indoor control, and outdoor control board for continuity, correct polarity, and secure connections at each end. Verify the system has completed its initial setup/commissioning sequence after any control board or thermostat replacement — some communicating thermostats require a manual setup step to pair with the outdoor unit. Inspect for a loose or disconnected low-voltage harness at the outdoor board.
