Control board malfunction — the LED is stuck showing a solid light rather than the slow-blink standby, fast-blink heat-cycle, or a numbered flash sequence, meaning the board can't communicate a normal status or diagnostic code at all. This differs from a numbered flash fault (like 2 or 3 Flashes), which points to one specific diagnosed condition; a solid, non-blinking LED usually means the board's microprocessor has locked up or failed outright and isn't running its self-diagnostic routine, so no call for heat will be answered.
Cycle furnace power off and on at the breaker or switch to force the board to restart its self-check. If the LED resumes normal slow or fast blinking afterward, the fault was transient. If it stays solid, inspect the furnace's line-voltage wiring, ground, and the low-voltage transformer output for correct voltage, since transformer or wiring faults can hang the board. If wiring and voltage check out and the LED remains solid, the control board itself has likely failed and needs replacement — call a technician.
