Daikin Split & Multi-Split Error Code C7

Full Diagnosis

C7 is a mechanical fault in the front panel's swing/opening drive motor or its limit switch, distinct from every refrigerant- or electronics-related code in this category — it trips when the motor can't reach or confirm its open or closed position within the expected travel. Only the indoor unit whose panel motor faulted shuts down; it does not affect the outdoor unit or other indoor units on a multi-split. Unlike C9 or CA (which are thermistor read failures with no moving parts involved), C7 is purely a mechanical actuation fault.

All Recorded Causes

Front panel driving motor burned out or seized. Limit switch misaligned, stuck, or failing to make contact at end of travel. Front panel physically obstructed, warped, or not seated correctly after cleaning. Broken or disconnected motor linkage/gear. Loose or damaged wiring harness between panel motor and indoor PCB.

Verify Before Replacing Parts

1. Confirm the exact Daikin model family and split/ multi split context before acting on a generic code description.
2. Verify airflow first, then confirm operating pressures and temperature relationship before adjusting charge, since front panel driving motor burned out or seized.
3. Look for restrictions, iced coils, or dirty heat-transfer surfaces that can mimic a charge problem, and separately confirm limit switch misaligned, stuck, or failing to make contact at end of travel.
4. After the correction, run the system long enough to confirm the split/ multi split fault does not return under normal load.
