Indicates the inverter control PCB itself has detected an internal fault — commonly a blown fuse, a failed power module, or a wiring problem on the compressor or fan output side — and has shut down the inverter drive. This differs from L0, which reports a broader inverter system fault tied to insufficient power supply capacity, and from LC, which is specifically a lost communication link between the inverter PCB and the main control PCB rather than a fault on the inverter board itself. Because L1 can be triggered by downstream wiring as well as the board, verify compressor and fan output wiring before replacing the inverter PCB.
