Full Diagnosis
L1 is a general inverter PCB malfunction — the outdoor unit's inverter driver board has detected an internal fault (blown fuse, faulty output stage, or bad compressor wiring feedback) and shuts the compressor down to protect the power module. It differs from the more specific inverter-family codes: L4 is a thermal trip on the inverter's radiation fin, L5 is an instantaneous DC-output overcurrent spike, L8 is a sustained AC-output overcurrent, L9 is a stall specifically during compressor startup, and LC is a communication failure between the control PCB and inverter PCB rather than a hardware fault on the inverter board itself.

Blown fuse on the inverter PCB. Compressor coil wiring damaged, disconnected, or miswired (U/V/W). Defective inverter PCB power module or driver IC. Shorted or grounded compressor motor winding. Damaged or loose connector between inverter PCB and compressor. Outdoor unit fan motor fault loading the inverter circuit.
Verify Before Replacing Parts
