Full Diagnosis
Reports a lost or corrupted communication link between two or more indoor-side terminal units sharing the same chiller system — for example fan coil units on a common water loop — as opposed to U4, which covers the outdoor-to-indoor transmission line, or U7, which covers transmission between outdoor units or an outdoor storage unit. Because this is a wiring-level fault rather than a component failure, intermittent U6 trips often trace back to transmission wiring routed near noisy electrical loads rather than a defective board.

Damaged, pinched, or disconnected transmission wiring between indoor units. Incorrect wiring polarity or shield grounding. Transmission wiring routed too close to high-voltage power cabling, inducing noise. Duplicate or conflicting indoor unit address. Defective indoor unit PCB transmission circuit. Loose terminal block connection at an indoor unit.
Verify Before Replacing Parts
- Confirm the exact Daikin model family and chiller context before acting on a generic code description.
- Confirm board LEDs, wiring polarity, and model compatibility before replacing control boards — this Daikin fault points at damaged, pinched, or disconnected transmission wiring between indoor units.
- Check for intermittent communication faults caused by connectors, moisture, or damaged harnesses, and rule out incorrect wiring polarity or shield grounding.
- After the correction, run the system long enough to confirm the chiller fault does not return under normal load.
