Full Diagnosis

H1 is a general network communication malfunction on the system's control bus, reported when the board loses reliable communication across the network without it being narrowed to a specific device pairing. This differs from H2 and H3, which are specific to host outdoor units detecting a change in the number of outdoor modules on a combination system, and from E7, which reports lost communication between a specific indoor and outdoor unit pair. H1 typically appears when the broader communication network is degraded — affecting multiple units or the whole system rather than one indoor/outdoor link — and can suspend normal operation system-wide until communication is restored.

Inspect the shared communication bus wiring across all units for breaks, loose terminals, or interference from nearby high-voltage wiring. Check for address/dip-switch conflicts if multiple units share the same communication line. Verify all units on the network have power and are not individually faulting. Test wiring continuity and shielding, and replace damaged communication cable runs if found.
