Full Diagnosis
JA reports a fault on the high-pressure transducer — an analog sensor that feeds a continuous discharge-pressure reading to the outdoor PCB for inverter capacity modulation — rather than the binary high-pressure switch (HPS) covered by E3/H3, which simply trips open at a fixed pressure. JA is triggered by an out-of-range or erratic signal (including a low-pressure sensor's signal mistakenly wired into the high-pressure sensor's connector), and the unit locks out compressor operation until the sensor reading is restored to a plausible range. It pairs with JC, its low-pressure-sensor counterpart, and the two are commonly cross-checked against each other during diagnosis since a swapped connector produces the same symptom on both.
All Recorded Causes
Loose, corroded, or swapped connector at the high pressure sensor. High and low pressure sensor connectors reversed. Defective high pressure sensor (transducer) itself. Damaged sensor wiring/harness. Defective outdoor unit PCB analog input circuit. Sensor reading outside expected refrigerant-circuit range due to an actual system fault.
Verify Before Replacing Parts
- Confirm the exact Daikin model family and packaged context before acting on a generic code description.
- Confirm board LEDs, wiring polarity, and model compatibility before replacing control boards — this Daikin fault points at loose, corroded, or swapped connector at the high pressure sensor.
- Check for intermittent communication faults caused by connectors, moisture, or damaged harnesses, and rule out high and low pressure sensor connectors reversed.
