Full Diagnosis

MA is a configuration fault detected at power-up or reset: the centralized-control network has an improper combination of optional controllers — for example, more than one device configured as master controller, or incompatible controller types mixed on the same line — rather than a wiring break. Unlike M8, which is a genuine loss of communication on an otherwise correctly configured network, MA prevents the system from establishing centralized control at all until the controller roles and settings are corrected. It is also distinct from MC/UC, which are specifically duplicate-address conflicts rather than role or compatibility conflicts.

More than one controller configured as master/main controller. Incompatible combination of optional controller types on the same network. Incorrect field setting (DIP switch or setup mode) on one of the controllers. Centralized control setup not completed correctly after installation or replacement. Defective centralized-control equipment reporting an invalid configuration.
