Full Diagnosis
UJ flags a communication fault with an accessory device — such as a wired remote sensor, adapter PCB, or optional interface module — connected to the indoor or outdoor unit's expansion port, rather than with the core indoor-outdoor-remote-controller network. It differs from U4/U5/U8, which cover the primary system transmission lines, and from M8, which is specific to centralized-control controllers; UJ is scoped to whatever third-party or optional accessory is wired into the unit's auxiliary connector. The accessory's function is disabled until its wiring and connection are verified.
All Recorded Causes
Damaged or disconnected wiring to the accessory device. Accessory device not properly seated in its connector. Defective accessory device PCB or sensor. Incompatible or unsupported accessory for the connected unit model. Electrical noise on the accessory wiring run.
Verify Before Replacing Parts
- Confirm the exact Daikin model family and packaged context before acting on a generic code description.
- Confirm board LEDs, wiring polarity, and model compatibility before replacing control boards — this Daikin fault points at damaged or disconnected wiring to the accessory device.
- Check for intermittent communication faults caused by connectors, moisture, or damaged harnesses, and rule out accessory device not properly seated in its connector.
- After the correction, run the system long enough to confirm the packaged fault does not return under normal load.
